Lasva Liimpuidu AS is an Estonian wood manufacturing company specialising in the value-added processing of high-quality Nordic softwood sawn timber. Our main species are Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris) and Norway spruce (Picea abies).

For us, quality starts with good sawn timber. We turn it into edge-glued panels, furniture components and solid wood furniture for customers in Estonia and across Europe.

About us

Lasva Liimpuidu AS started operations in 1994. Today, our company employs 35 people and has developed into a versatile wood processing and solid wood manufacturing company.

Our core focus is the value-added processing of pine and spruce. We source and process sawn timber and manufacture a wide range of wood products and components according to our customers’ requirements.

• Edge-glued panels – solid wood panels, mainly made from pine and spruce, for furniture, doors, windows and other wood products.
• Furniture components – custom-made furniture parts manufactured according to customer drawings, dimensions and technical specifications.
• Solid wood furniture – furniture made mainly from pine and spruce for a wide range of residential and commercial interiors.

Nordic softwood – our main raw material

Our main raw material is high-quality Nordic softwood sawn timber. We primarily use Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris) and Norway spruce (Picea abies).

The cooler growing conditions of Northern Europe and the Baltic region generally result in slower tree growth and a denser, more even annual-ring structure. These characteristics make Nordic pine and spruce highly valued for furniture and other quality wood products, offering a natural appearance, good machinability, strength and long-term usability.

Pine has a warm appearance and distinctive grain, with natural colour variation and knots giving each product its individual character. Spruce is lighter in colour, with a more uniform appearance and a lighter structure. Both species are well suited for furniture, edge-glued panels and a wide range of solid wood components.

A quality finished product starts with good sawn timber. That is why we pay close attention to raw material selection and to every stage of drying, machining and further processing.

We source sawn timber mainly from Estonia and the Nordic countries. In international timber trade, pine and spruce sawn timber may also be referred to by the trade terms redwood and whitewood.

Wood – a renewable material that stores carbon

Wood is a renewable natural material. Growing trees absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, and a proportion of this biogenic carbon remains stored in wood products throughout their service life.

We consider responsible sourcing, transparent supply chains and forest management that supports the long-term health of forests to be important. Our aim is to use quality wood efficiently and turn it into products designed for long-term use.
