Edge-Glued Panels

Lasva Liimpuidu manufactures high-quality solid wood edge-glued panels mainly from Nordic pine and spruce sawn timber. We manufacture panels according to the ordered dimensions – we do not glue a large panel first and cut it down afterwards.

Edge-glued panels made from full-length lamellas

We use full-length lamellas for manufacturing our edge-glued panels. Panels are assembled individually according to the required length, width and quality.

The ordered dimensions are part of the production process from the beginning. This means that we manufacture the panel to the required dimensions rather than producing a large standard panel and cutting it down afterwards.

Edge-glued panels are generally supplied as unformatted blanks with machining allowance according to the ordered finished dimensions. For example, a finished panel dimension of 1000 × 500 × 22 mm may be supplied as an unformatted blank measuring 1020 × 506 × 22 mm. The actual blank width depends on the lamella width used.

Panels can be calibrated, as standard up to P120 surface finish.

Nordic pine and spruce

Our main raw material is high-quality Nordic softwood sawn timber. We mainly use Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris) and Norway spruce (Picea abies).

We source timber from Estonia, Finland and Sweden. Nordic softwood is valued for its good workability, natural appearance and consistent structure.

Edge-glued panel dimensions

Available panel dimensions:

• Length: 250–2100 mm (blank dimension)
  • 2100 mm and longer dimensions by agreement
• Width: from two lamella widths up to 1240 mm
• Thickness: 12–60 mm
  • 10–11.9 mm and thicknesses above 60 mm by agreement

Available lamella widths:

• 38–45 mm
• up to 70 mm for knotless edge-glued panels

Edge-glued panel quality grades

We manufacture edge-glued panels in quality grades A, A-, B and C. The two panel faces are graded separately, and different quality grades can be combined.

A and A- are different quality grades. A- quality is approximately comparable to the IKEA Class 2 surface-side quality.

We offer different quality combinations according to the intended use of the panel and the customer’s requirements.

Knotless edge-glued panels

We also manufacture knotless edge-glued panels in 15 mm and 22 mm thicknesses. For knotless panels, we use lamellas up to 70 mm wide.

The general lead time for knotless edge-glued panels is up to 6 weeks.

Adhesive

We use PVA D3 or PVA D4 adhesives for manufacturing edge-glued panels.

Edge-glued panels for furniture and solid wood furniture components

Our edge-glued panels are suitable for manufacturing solid wood furniture, solid wood furniture components, worktops, shelves, doors and other wood products.

Our panels are used by furniture manufacturers and other woodworking companies that need high-quality solid wood material made from Nordic pine or spruce.

We also use edge-glued panels in our own production of solid wood furniture components and solid wood furniture.

Solid wood components with larger cross-sections

We can also manufacture larger cross-section solid wood components suitable for furniture and other wood products.

Dimensions and specifications are agreed according to the intended application.

• Quality requirements are available for download from our website.
• The most commonly used thicknesses are 15, 16, 18, 20, 22, 25, 26 and 30 mm.
• The preferred order quantity is a minimum of 50 pcs per position/dimension.
